I've moved!

After a year of hibernating from creating any layouts, cards or crafts, I finally got my mojo back. But with it I decided to move to a new "home". I just want to be able to post blogs easier. I hope you can find time to visit my new address. Thanks for the memories here!

Trick or Treat

To my surprise, Andrei volunteered to sponsor their class' trick or treat. I was surprised with her teacher's thank you note. After a few words with my kid, I thought, they're just kids. It's once a year so, why not. Being a stage mom AND scrapper mom, I wouldn't just pack the candies on plastic bags, I would find creative ways to pack it. So I searched the net for a few tips and stumbled upon a few great ideas. I stumbled upon Martha Stewart's coffin treat boxes and the chinese takeout treat boxes (sorry, I forgot the site). I was contemplating which one is cheaper and easier to make so I decided to go with the chinese takeout treat boxes.
I bought small plain chinese takeout boxes from RM Box Center that Marian suggested (thanks Marian! It was a great help!) I just assembled it and put spooky halloween border and trick or treat tag that I printed out from the computer. I then put black ribbon as handle and filled it with assorted candies and chocolates.

Finally, I sealed the top with a Jack-o-lantern Happy Halloween clip art greeting (also from the net). Here's a closeup of the treat boxes. I hope his classmates like it.
TFL! Happy Halloween everyone!

Tween birthday giveaway

My sister celebrated her 11th birthday last October 12. She asked me to make a few stuff for her goodie bags that she will give away for her best buds. An 11-year old, still loves goodie bags? Well, we grown ups loves freebies, so why not? Lucky for her, I was experimenting on a few door hangers that I got from Japan Homes, which I was planning to give away to CK's godparents on December.
I used all my old patterned papers and decoupaged it onto the door hanger. Then I decorated it with buttons, lace, ribbons, etc. Here's the sample of the door hanger that I made. (more photos soon)
The goodie bag also contains a wooden flower photoholder. I made ATCs that also serves as "Thank you" cards. I hand stamped the flower image onto the 2.5 x 3.5 light green cardstock. Then I stamped the bee image and "many thanks" onto a plain white cardstock and cut it out. I mounted it on double-sided foam tape and into the ATC.
Here are the rest of the bag's contents: an ID lace, a teddy keychain, Hello Kitty mini notebook, wooden flower photoholder and the door hanger with the recipient's name.

Unique wedding invite: Jill and Matt

I was browsing the net for some craft project ideas and I stumbled upon iDiY that features craft projects for the bride on a budget. It's a really cool site and it's overflowing with ideas for budget weddings and for couples who are hands-on in their wedding preparations. A particular feature on their blog is this invite that caught my attention. It's simple and doesn't have any embellishment on it. It's all text and no fancy graphics but I must agree with Luzel that it's very creative, unique and personal. The groom Matt Dorfman himself designed their wedding invitation. Check it out: (click here for a full view)

Digital ATCs and LOs

I've been a very bad blogger. I's been 7 months since my last post. And it's been months since I made any layouts. School stuff, taking care of the kids and preparations for my little girl's baptism and first birthday was very overwhelming. Anyway, Here's a few of my digital pages that I made ust last month so I could include them on her AVP. (Credits will be posted later)

I can't sleep a few nights ago and I was not in the mood to take the pressure of making a digital layout, so I made digitl ATCs instead. I don't know if there's such a thing but I thought if there is a digital counterpart of layouts, why not have a digital ATC that I can print later on. Hey, it's still a digitl art. Below are a few pieces that I made. I will make a few more and print them out this weekend.

Weekend Photos

I finally got the courage to try taking pictures from my sister's SLR. I had fun and it's so addictive. Here's wht my lenses captured this weekend:

PhotoHunt: Words

I'm back!!! After long months of hibernating and just lurking around I'm finally finding my mojo (and spare time) back!

I found this wonderful site from Diane and Jenn's site. They love photography and their photographs truly inspires me. I wanted to develop my photography skills so when I graduate, I can pursue a photography career. And as a scrapbooker, it will also help me in capturing great photos. This week's theme is 'WORDS'. Here's my take on this week's challenge. Sorry for the crappy photo. I'm using my P&S and my sister's SLR was not focused.. still need to learn how to play with her Pro Cam.
I used scrabble tiles that my son is playing on the floor and spelled the words "I miss you" which what I really feel right now. It's been 1 year and 6 months since my hubby went to the States. I really wish everything will work out so I could see him soon.
