Unique wedding invite: Jill and Matt

I was browsing the net for some craft project ideas and I stumbled upon iDiY that features craft projects for the bride on a budget. It's a really cool site and it's overflowing with ideas for budget weddings and for couples who are hands-on in their wedding preparations. A particular feature on their blog is this invite that caught my attention. It's simple and doesn't have any embellishment on it. It's all text and no fancy graphics but I must agree with Luzel that it's very creative, unique and personal. The groom Matt Dorfman himself designed their wedding invitation. Check it out: (click here for a full view)

Welcome Baby CK

Finally gave birth to my little princess, Caitlyn Kirsten last Decemeber 14.

I went to the hospital on December 13 since I had a bloody show when I got home from school. My OB said my cervix isn't opening yet but I have blood. She asked me to be confined that night for observation. The following morning she checked and my cervix is opening so she ordere me to walk. So I walked all around the hospital, going up and down the stairs and at 6:30 PM I was taken to the Delivery Room. I had an induced labor since I was already 6 cm but the contractions are still irregular.

Finally, after 2 hours of labor pains I gave birth to a healthy baby girl at 8:49 PM and she's 6.5 lbs... All the pain is worth it..

More pictures here at my Multiply account. TFL!

Andrei's 1st UN parade

I'd like to share some photos of Andrei during his UN parade this morning. He paraded England's national costume... (actually England doesn't have any national costume but when you goggle it this photo is what pops out.) He was dressed as a footgurad at the Buckingham Palace (or is well known popularly recognized as the Nutcracker man)

I had the upper suit custom made just for him because England is not popularly selected during UN parades. The most common are Japan, USA, China, and Singapore. The sash was made out of foam that I bought from AAS (well, what do you expect from a scrapper mom?). The cap was made by my MIL out from an old calendar and wrpped it with the excess black cloth that was used for his costume. I wrapped it with black tassle to look like the photo I've downloaded from the net. I even bought him a toy rifle to complete the look.

The other parents and even our neighbors are so happy when they saw him and said that he really looked like a Nutcracker man from England... Here are some of the photos...

Andrei's Accident

Last October 1, my very hyperactive son Andrei was playing at the stairs while carrying a blankie.. 1-2-3, bang! He tripped over the blankie and landed on the corner of the stairs which have 3 porclain vases. I immediately ran when I heard him crying. I was asking what happened when I saw blood coming out of his forehead!! I was in panic! I checked the vases where he landed and saw a 2 inch chip on one. I was so panicking, my stomach was getting hard, almost contracting. Good thing my uncle was here and calmly approached Andrei and covered his forehead with the blankie and checked the wound. I couldn't even look at it because I'm afraid of blood and I'm scared that if I see a real BIG and DEEP wound,I just might have a labor right there and then.

I called my mother in-law and said to meet me at Fe del Mundo Hospital in Banawe to have him checked in the ER. When we get there, the staff immediately assessed him and asked all questions necessary. Good thing it was just two small wound but it was deep so Andrei had to have 1 stitch on each. They say, there were many tiny particles of the vase found in the wounds.

When the ER staff got him on the table to clean the wound and fix him up, he started yelling and shouting and crying with all his might. He kept yelling "Pakalawan (Pakawalan) niyo ko. Please. Bebehave na ko, promise" . All the ER staff just held their laughter. May sugat na nga nagddrama pa! After 20 minutes of yelling, he still didn't stop. They even teased him that he was such an extraordinary boy. If he was normal, he would have been exhausted with all the yelling and crying for 5 minutes. But my little boy? He kept on doing it for 35 minutes!

After that, we went home and it's as if nothing happened. He was even proud of his bandage and boasted to his aunts "O, tignan nio ko. Likot ko kasi. May tahi na ko". Tsk, tsk, tsk... From the mouth of my babe.

I assure you, we must have been the talk of the ER and the hospital for days because when we returned after a week, all the ER staff --even the guard -- recognized him!

Here's a few pictures I've taken. (Well, what do you expect from a scrapper mom?)

(l-r: MIL holding him down, doctor, doing the stitch, the emo face, the wound, the wound afer 1 week)

Scrapping Goodness!!!!

After almost 5 months of 'hibernating' due to my pregnancy and school work, I finally have 2 full weeks to scrap and fix my new scrap space. All I did these past 2 weeks is shop, shop, shop.... I think I've spent more money scrap shopping than baby shopping... Hihihi... Hope dear hubby won't blog hop tonight or I'll be definitely get a BIIIIIGGGGG scolding.. Here's what I've restocked my space:

Saw this new stuff from All About Scrapbooking and I just couldn't resist. They're not so expensive like the imported ones.I grabbed some and hoping to try them out on my new layouts...

(stickers, ribbons, fabric flower, chipboard and bling)

These are foam sheets and letter foam stickers. Why I loved them: 1. unlike the AC Thickers, they don't lose their glue after sometime and 2. they cost less (Php 70). The only disadvantage is that you're stuck with one design or style and availble in 6 colors only.

These items I got from Zabeth...

I'm still expecting a few stuff in a few days.. So, I'll just post them when they arrive.

Another One for Me

I was telling Cookie just last week that I'm pregnant with my 2nd child. I made 3 test already but all of them are weak positives. So, I went to my OB and had a pre-natal check up. And it was confirmed!

I'm 5 weeks pregnant!

I had a great time yesterday at the fundraising for the Carmelite nuns at Centro Montessori. Aside from meeting Ms. Candy and Ms. Lee in person, I met and saw my insirations... Cabbie, Ms. Nita, Mia and Ria. I got starstruck with Ria. She was pretty on her online photos and much more in person...

Thanks Cookie, Candy, Lee, Jenn and Rachele for the wonderful times we had when preparing for this event and for the advices and encouragements..
