Kaya 19 challenge 2 & 3

Forgot to upload it here... so toxic with school work, doing christmas gifts and cards... Here are my LOs for Kaya 19's challenge 2 & 3...

Challenge 2: NEGATIVE SPACE

I was totally clueless on challenge #2... Not that I don't know how to make a layout on negative or white space but I had a hard time to do a beautiful yet simple layout applying it. I decided to scrap a photo of my gift for my Hunei on our engagement anniversary next month. (You can view my blog entry here) I wanted the focus to be on my photo so I used a black background, inked the edges and just add the title.

Journaling: I don't mind waiting as long as I end up with you.

Challenge # 3: DISTRESSED LADIES

For Marj's challenge #3, I thought of creating a LO of my great grandmother. The distress challenge is just perfect so I could scrap a photo of my grams. I've wanted to do one for a long time and this challenge was just perfect. Thanks Marj now I have a LO of my Grams..(Sorry for the photo's poor quality, I took this one last night)

Journaling: Grams, I wish God has given me more time to get to know you better...

Kaya 19

When I saw Marj's challenge I got excited. It's been a while since I last joined Kaya due to my pregnancy. And Kaya 19 was just perfect.... until I saw challenge #1... BOWS!!! All I kept thinking was an LO on girls... but my daughter isn't born yet! So, I decided to make a boy layout that used a girly element. I'm not sure if I succeeded but at least I tried.*wink*

Journaling:Andrei, you'll always be my darling little boy. I hope you grow up with all the best that life can bring. I love you so... Mama

Materials:DCWV cardstocks (brown, blue, red, apple gree, green, orange), DCWV black stitch rub-ons, AAS ribbon, Others: buttons, foam letters.

Kaya 11 - Bling It On

Mia's Challenge for PS Kaya was all about Blings.. You have to use at least 3 different types of bling on your layout and a picture of your hollywood crush. I chose to do a layout of Tom Welling. He's my ultimate hottie.. Here's the layout:

MAN OF STEAL
Journaling:
Tom Welling, my Superman.. you really stole my heart. With just a look at your perfectly chiseled face, and your green hazel eyes and your heart melting smile... I fall head over heels in love with you...

Kaya 10

This month's Kaya 10 Challenge was all about Going Digital. Diane gave us a kit from Danielle Young and this is what we used for the challenge. I had fun doing this. The kit was so lovely I couldn't help myself doing more. So instead of doing 1 I made 4! I didn't do 4 to win in the challenge, as the PS tag line says, "a Finished layout is a scrappers' best reward", indeed it was! Thanks Diane for this challenge and thanks Danielle for the wonderful kit!

Celebrate Love

As I was thinking about my Sweet Inspiration for PS Kaya 7 challenge, I came across my son’s RBW (Red, Black & White) flashcards that I used to develop his visual activity when he was a baby.

The colors caught my curiosity and attention. Why did babies see only these colors when they are just starting to take notice of their surroundings? For me, the colors also complement each other and they stand out. It’s also very versatile. In fashion, you can use these colors for glamour or for ‘punks’.

So here’s my interpretation of the Red, Black, White color scheme.

Journaling:
Another year has gone by since I fell in love with you. Another year of being so true. This has been the best year of all other years and it’s been six years and we’re still here. We’ve been through many ups and downs but we remained strong and made it through the odds. Love kept us together. I only pray that God may grant me more years to love you, cherish you and serve you. I love you so much.

Kaya 6 entry

This is my layout for the Kaya 6 challenge. Don't know what to do with my layout so I just went with the flow and had fun.

JOURNALING: YOU ARE MY I LOVE YOU (Poem by Maryann K. Cusimano)

I am your parent, you are my child. I am your quiet place, you are my wild. I am your calm face, you are my giggle. I am your wait, you are my wiggle. I am your finish line, you are my race. I am your praying hands, you are my saving grace. I am your lullaby, you are my peekaboo. I am your goodnight kiss, you are my I love you.

MATERIALS USED: Puncher, scissors, cardstock (Bazzil, Sterling scrapbook paper), glue, Pilot ballpoint pen, black marker

TECHNIQUES:

I traced a paisley using a pattern that I have and hand cutted it. I punched circles using different colors of cardstock strips and pasted it on a paisley. I cut thin strips of different colors of cardstock and pasted it on another paisley. I used tearing technique for the yellow background. I used a blue CS strip that I punched and use it as a boarder for the photo. I also hand-cutted different sizes of circles. I used a regular Pilot pen for the journaling.
